Brian Kazmierzak, the Chief of Training at the Penn Township Fire Department, oversees the planning and training of all full- and part-time firefighters. This includes needs assessment, curriculum development, scheduling, and records management as well as continuing education courses. Firefighters must attend a series of classes that address the spectrum of emergencies they may encounter from fires to emergency medical treatment to terrorism response. Chief Brian Kazmierzak teaches many of the courses along with other department certified instructors. The importance of safety is integrated into training as it is an important aspect of all emergency responses.
